Celebrate Jane Austen – December 16
Make plans to stay at Marple Public Library all day on December 16, as we celebrate the birthday of Jane Austen. Films start at 10:00AM and run until 6:00PM, and we’ll have cake and tea at 2:30PM. Stop by and try your hand at matching quotes from her novels with their proper title. We will also be drawing the winning ticket in our quilt, pillow and tablerunner raffle.
You’ll definitely want to be here at 7:15PM, when the Friends of the Marple Public Library present “An Evening with Jane Austen”. Elizabeth Jane Steele of the Jane Austen Society of North America will discuss the life and times of Jane Austen. Desserts will be available after the presentation.

Spotlight on New Books
This morning we offered a Tea at Ten presentation focusing on new books (published sometime in 2008) that we have read and enjoyed. We had a good group and enjoyed tea and refreshments while discussing books. We’d love to have you join us and we plan to have another presentation in March, so please watch for the date.
