It’s been raining all morning, so the work on the roof has stopped for now. The rain also interrupted the World Series last night. If you need your baseball fix, come to the library today. We’ve got baseball books and baseball movies for all ages to keep you going until the next pitch, whether it be tonight or tomorrow. Come to the library and check us out!

Raising the Roof @ Marple Public Library
Today begins the construction on our new roof. We’re hoping that it won’t be too inconvenient for all of our patrons and guests. Part of our parking lot has to be closed for the constuction workers, but there is ample street parking in the neighborhood.
In honor of this special event, we’re offering free coffee and tea and half-price DVD rentals until the construction is done. So don’t let the dust and men in hard hats deter your visit to the library – we’re waiting for you inside!

Author Visit with Chris Bohjalian
Marple Public Library is happy to announce that as part of our Fall For A Book: Delaware County Reads The Great Gatsby programming, we are hosting the author Chris Bohjalian on Wednesday November 5 at 3:00PM. Chris Bohjalian wrote The Double Bind, which our county selected as a companion book to read with The Great Gatsby. Chris will be here to speak about how F. Scott Fitzgerald’s work has influenced his writing, and he will also sign books. The neighboring libraries in Newtown Square and Springfield Township are helping to sponsor his visit. Go to our library homepage at www.marplepubliclibrary.org and click on Library Events to register for this free event. I’ll see you there, as I am very excited about this visit! – Jennifer
